My name is Cynthia Burk, and I am running for school Trustee for the Windsor Essex Catholic District School Board for Area 3 Lakeshore.

ACCESSIBLE

Trustees are accountable to the Province of Ontario and their electorate. I will always be accessible to consult with parents, students and supporters of the Board. I will champion equity in education and advocate for issues that are important for the students of Lakeshore.

PASSIONATE

I am the proud Mom of an enthusiastic Eagle at Our Lady of the Annunciation, who has a couple of years left before heading over to St. Anne. I have served on the Catholic School Advisory Committee (CSAC) at OLOA for five years and the Parent Involvement Committee (PIC) on the general committee for four years. These years of service have inspired me to become move involved with the broader education community.

INFORMED

I feel my years as a business professional and my volunteer work will lend themselves positively to the role of Trustee. More importantly, my role as Mom to an autistic child with a rare epileptic disorder called SCN8A, has honed my skills to focus on student achievement and their well-being. I am not shy to put the required time in to research an issue and will come to meetings well prepared and informed.

I will work tirelessly to enhance the school environments of Our Lady of the Annunciation, St. John the Baptist, St. John the Evangelist, St. William elementary schools, and St. Anne Catholic High School. I hope I can count on your support on October 24, 2022.
